Class 1 Driver

Station Couriers are looking to recruit an additional Class 1 Driver to work in our busy and expanding operation. Most of your time will be spent working as a multi drop Driver (on both collections and deliveries) other duties may include helping in the warehouse.

HGV Class 1 Driver

Based in Newtown, Powys

Full-Time position

Permanent Position – after a 6-month probationary period

Salary above national minimum wage plus pension scheme

As an HGV Class 1 Driver you will need to have:

  • UK HGV1 License
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with Class 1 is required for insurance purposes
  • An up to date CPC is essential, future training will be provided

Details:

Monday to Friday (Saturday on a rota basis) Multi-drop deliveries

Updating delivery records, often using a handheld computer

Desirable Core Attributes & Competencies

A full, clean (no endorsements) UK driving licence for manual vehicles

Must be ok with pump truck work

The ability to drive courteously, efficiently and economically

A good level of fitness

Excellent customer service skills

A good knowledge of SY & LD road networks

Good team working skills

The ability to work quickly and accurately

The ability to complete paperwork

An understanding of health and safety regulations

Honesty and reliability

A willingness to work on a flexible basis.
