Station Couriers’ new DAF – a tribute to driver’s mother

Posted 25th June, 2018

Newtown specialist pallet and parcel distribution company, Station Couriers have received the latest addition to their truck fleet with the arrival of a DAF CF 480 automatic gearbox sleeper cab tractor unit fitted with a tag axle for ease of manoeuvrability.

On hand to deliver the DAF CF was Liam Smith, Truck Sales Executive for Greenhous Commercials in Shrewsbury. Sian Jenkins, director of Station Couriers, was delighted to receive the vehicle on behalf of Station Couriers.

Sian explained: “The DAF CF looks glorious in its new corporate livery. It has been named ‘Tracey Anne’ in memory of our driver Ryan Steele’s mother, who sadly had passed away.  This is our third new DAF from Greenhous and each has been named, one after my daughter, ‘Ava Seren’ and she named the other ‘George’.

“It has been a very busy year and this new CF will replace an older DAF. We have had a lot of Saturday deliveries for animal feed during the Winter and early Spring months as a response to the awful weather. This new vehicle will work mostly around Welshpool and Oswestry and the tag axle will be very helpful with operating in tight areas.”

Sian is pictured receiving the keys to the DAF CF from Liam Smith at the Station Couriers depot in Newtown.

During these challenging times, and In a society where we are all too fast to complain when things are not as they should be, I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

I have recently received two deliveries from your company on behalf of Gravel Master U.K. and on both occasions by the same friendly and courteous driver (*Mark Lello*). Unfortunately I don't have his name, but it was his general manor, and the small gesture of putting the pallets in my garage, rather than leaving them kerbside that impressed me.

Please convey my sincere thanks to him.
