Can I reuse boxes for shipping?

In today’s society, helping the environment in every way we can is at the forefront of our minds. Recycling and reusing materials are something that we should all be doing, by way of habit.

What are the benefits of reusing materials for shipping?

To send a parcel or package uses a lot of different materials such as cardboard, paper, polystyrene and bubble wrap. All of these materials can easily be reused by simply saving the materials that you have received within a parcel.

Reusing materials of any kind cuts down on the amount of waste, that ultimately would otherwise use up more space in landfill sites. As well as helping the environment, you will also save yourself money. Purchasing all of the materials needed to package your items safely and securely can add up – why waste your hard-earned money on things that you can reuse? 

What reused packaging materials can you use?

If you send and receive parcels or packages on a regular basis, you will be aware of the types of materials that are needed to keep your items safe and secure within a cardboard box. Polystyrene, bubble wrap and packing nuts are all made from plastic – something we should definitely be reusing to cut down on the amount of single-use plastics circulating the globe. These things are fairly easy to store in the home or office, ready to use when you need to send your own parcel or package.

Can you reuse cardboard boxes?

It is a common misconception that you have to use a brand new cardboard box for shipping items in. As long as the box is in a good, strong condition, it is absolutely fine to reuse a cardboard box. It is also acceptable if the box already has existing logos or branding on it. The only thing we ask is that any existing barcodes are well covered, as it may cause some confusion for our warehouse and delivery team.
